The Wildfire Collaborative Roaring Fork Valley, in partnership with Eagle County, is launching a free curbside chipping program for Basalt-area residents in summer 2026. Removing excess vegetation and slash is one of the most effective ways to reduce wildfire risk and protect homes and neighborhoods. Funded through Eagle County’s lodging tax account, the program makes it easier for residents to take action by providing accessible, no-cost mitigation support. These efforts not only reduce risk at the property level but also strengthen wildfire resilience at the community level.
